Kalideres Terminal Looks Crowded with Homebound Travelers

The surge in mudik road trips travelers has been seen today at Kalideres AKAP Bus Terminal, West Jakarta. It is predicted that the peak mudik flow will occur on the upcoming D-4 and D-3.

Kalideres AKAP Bus Terminal Head, Revi Zulkarnaen expressed that based on predictions on D-6, the number of travelers began to increase. It was recorded that 1,357 travelers departed using 118 buses from the terminal.

"Thousands of travelers have departed for Padang, Palembang, Bengkulu, and Lampung, as well as several cities in Central Java," he expressed, Sunday (4/16).

He explained the surge in Idul Fitri travelers has been seen since D-8 by departing 934 passengers using 65 buses bound for Sumatra during the day and those bound for Java in the afternoon until evening.

"The peak of mudik flow is predicted on D-4 and D-3. So far, everything has been running smoothly and safely," he said.

Sujadmiko (53), a resident of RT 04/01, Kedoya Selatan Urban Village, Kebom Jeruk Sub-district, West Jakarta admitted he chose to leave early to avoid long traffic jams. He traveled with his wife and two children.

"We feel safe and comfortable, as officers are ready to help us and everything looks neat and orderly, making it easier for travelers to find tickets and buses," he admitted.
